MOOONS Vienna Guide
Shopping
Several big-name stores have settled into the mall at Vienna’s new main station. Here you will find fashion shops as well as paper goods, decorative items and cosmetics. Apart from the options at the station mall, there are several other small local shops to discover. We are located in Vienna’s 4th city district of Wieden. While strolling through the neighbourhood around MOOONS, you can discover lots of local offerings in the “Grätzl” (the Austrian word for “neighbourhood”) and take one or two special souvenirs with you. Vienna has a lot to offer for shopping fans. From large flagship stores of well-known brands to department stores and shopping malls, there is something for everyone
Go out & EXPLOOORE
If the MOOONS universe ever gets too small for you, we are the best starting point for your tours of discovery. In our Deluxe Rooms, this universe is at your feet, now you should also set out to explore it. We’re talking about Belvedere Palace with its impressive park, located right next door. From there, you can stroll through the narrow streets and lanes to the Naschmarkt or marvel at the baroque Karlskirche with its impressive dome on Karlsplatz. Classics such as Schönbrunn Palace with zoo, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Belvedere Palace or Karlskirche are complemented by modern highlights such as the Museumsquartier, Albertina or Danube Tower.
Green Vienna, sporty Vienna
Say “Prater”, and many visitors think of the famous amusement park. Just a short walk from the rides, however, Mother Nature makes herself heard – with a natural refuge in the middle of the city for anyone in need of an outdoor break. The 4.5-kilometre main avenue not only makes marathon runners break out in a sweat, it is just as beautiful to explore on a stroll or bike ride. But the Prater not only is a green retreat, it is also the location of the Giant Ferris Wheel, one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Unlike the other amusement park rides, the Ferris Wheel is open all year round. A ride on the wheel will give you a breathtaking view over the city of Vienna – as long as you’re not afraid of heights.
